How To Take Proper Care Of An Oily And Sensitive Skin

We have been told how to take care of dry, oily,

combination, and sensitive skin;

but what if your skin is oily and sensitive at the same time? In this article, we will be talking about how you can take proper care of an oily and sensitive skin.

Cleanse

Use a mild and hydrating cleanser so that your skin will not be stripped off of its natural oils.

It may be tempting to use a cleanser which promises to remove the oil on your face and leave it squeaky clean, but trust me,

you wouldn’t want that. Stripping your face of its moisture will lead your glands to produce even more oil. Use a hydrating cleanser that will remove the excess sebum from your face but would not leave it feeling tight and dry.

Also, opt for cleansers which are paraben free, non comedogenic, and hypoallergenic.

Tone

Use a toner which does not contain alcohol as this can be very harmful especially for those with sensitive skin.

When applying toner with a cotton pad, use gentle upward strokes.

You may also apply toner by putting an ample amount on your hand and patting it dry unto your skin.

Remember: pat, do not rub.

Essence

It may seem just like an expensive bottle of water but an essence actually contains active ingredients which can make your face plump and healthy.

Also, it is best to apply it after using your toner because this skincare products aids in boosting your skin’s condition so that it could absorb your expensive serums and night cream better.

Serum

Serums are more concentrated than toner and essence.

Many serums are designed to specifically target different skin concerns such as acne, dullness, hyperpigmentation, and there are also some designed for minimizing your pores and for whitening.

When choosing which serum to buy, make sure that you’ll be choosing a product that would directly address your skin concerns.

Moisturizer

You may think “Oh, my face is too oily, I don’t need to moisturize”, but you actually do need to moisturize.

It is better for those with oily and sensitive skin types to use a gel moisturizer. When choosing a moisturizer, opt for the ones with natural ingredients so that your skin won’t be irritated.

Most people also use aloe vera gel as a face mask – they apply an ample amount on their skin, leave it overnight, and wash it in the morning.

Many people swear by this method and claims that it has helped calm the redness of their skin and has reduced the appearance of acne and small bumps on their face.
